TV4 Media acquires exclusive Women’s Tennis Rights

TV4 Media acquires exclusive Women’s Tennis media rights covering Sweden, Finland and Norway.
TV4 Media, a Telia company, has agreed to acquire exclusive WTA tennis media rights covering Sweden, Finland and Norway. Through its Free-To-Air coverage, C More channels and the OTT service, TV4 Media will be broadcasting all of the newly restructured WTA 250, 500 and 1000 events live.
Tennis fans in these territories will now have live access to young and exciting talents such as Sweden’s Rebecca Peterson through TV4 in Sweden, MTV3 in Finland, C More pay channels and the OTT service across the territories.
Sweden’s highest ranked player on the Tour today is Rebecca Peterson (ranked 55th as of January 25th, 2021). After a very successful 2019 season which saw the 25-year-old win her first tournaments (Jiangxi Open and Tianjin Open) and since joining the Tour, Peterson reached a career high ranking of 43rd.
TV4 Media’s coverage of the WTA is expected to begin with the GIPPSLAND TROPHY and YARRA VALLEY CLASSIC events as of February 1st, 2021 and will conclude with the season-end Shiseido WTA Finals Shenzhen.

TV4 Media is the home of premium sports content in Sweden and Finland providing fans with access to the Swedish Hockey League, Finnish Liiga, the PGA Tour, Serie A, La Liga, UEFA Nations League, European Qualifiers, FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euros among others prestigious competitions. Starting from 2021, the media group will be adding the UEFA Champions League to its portfolio in Sweden in addition to its existing coverage of the competition in Finland.
