The Olympic Games will be broadcast for the first time ever on TV4 and TV4 Play, starting with Milano Cortina in 2026.
The rights to the Olympic Games between 2026 and 2032 have been secured following an agreement with public service broadcaster SVT.
- This is a major milestone for TV4. The Olympic Games are a fantastic addition to our strong sports portfolio. The Olympics generates massive interest amongst the Swedish TV audience, says Johan Cederqvist, sports director at TV4.
The TV4 Olympic Games journey will kick off with the Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina in February 2026 and is subsequently followed by the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028, the Olympic Winter Games 2030 at the French Alps and the Olympic Games 2032 in Brisbane.
- We are immensely proud to be broadcasting the Olympic Games on TV4 for the first time. The vast interest and broad appeal of the Olympic Games fits TV4 and TV4 Play perfectly, says Fredrik Arefalk, channel and content director at TV4.
TV4 has bought the free-to-air TV rights to the Olympic Games, which will be broadcast on both TV4 and TV4 Play. The Olympic Games are the only major sports events that TV4 has never broadcast before. The rights are shared with SVT.
